Who are we?

The Student Union for Educational Sciences and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (StuFF) is the largest student voice at Linköping University, representing almost 20,000 students in Linköping and Norrköping. Since 1996, the student union has been a strong political voice, striving to make your time as a student as good as possible – from the exam to the dance floor!

By becoming a member of the union, you do not only get membership benefits such as discounts and events – you also support our work with education quality, work environment, student life, and the reception of new students.

AMO week 2026!

AMO Week 2026 is finally here!

AMO Week is a week prepared by the student work environment representatives to give students the opportunity to talk and connect with them in order to gain a better understanding of how, as a student, you can influence the work environment on campus.

Read more about the work environment and AMO Week below! The schedule for AMO Week is also published on our social media channels.

The Student sruvery 2026 is now open!

As a student at Linköpings universitet, you have now received an email about the Student Survey. Click on the link in the email to access the survey and contribute to student influence by answering the questions!

The Student Survey is a web-based survey organized every second year by LiU in collaboration with the student unions. It gives students the opportunity to share their views on education, study environment, and equal opportunities. The results are used as a basis for decisions and improvements in areas such as education, facilities, and student health services.

After the survey, the results are compiled into reports by campus, faculty, programme and course, and improvement measures are followed up within the university’s regular quality assurance processes.

Over the years, the survey has led to several improvements, such as more study spots, more student kitchens, and increased resources for Student Health Services.

StuFF newsletter February 2026

Hi everyone!

February has been an eventful month for the student union, so buckle up! Here comes a summary of the past month and some fun things happening in March 💚

StuFF 25/26

StuFF celebrates 30 years! 🥳

The celebration of StuFF’s 30th anniversary starts in March with cake and lunch giveaways in both Linköping and Norrköping. Keep an eye on our social media for more information! 🎉

Create a list and participate in the student union election! 🌱

Do you want to work with student politics, influence StuFF’s work, gain valuable experience for your CV and earn engagement points for exchange studies?

You can get all this by being part of the Student Council (FUM), our highest decision-making body!

FUM consists of 20–35 students who meet about 8–10 times per year.

The student union election is a democratic election where members choose who will represent them in FUM. To participate, StuFF members can create a list (similar to a political party) and run in the election.

✨ List registration is open from March 1 to March 22! ✨

More information about the election, FUM, and the registration form can be found further up on this page.

Recruitment for StuFF’s Board and Democracy Unit 🌿

The application period for the next union board and democracy unit is now closed.

The nomination committee will call all applicants and nominees for interviews before the Election-FUM (VALFUM) later this spring where next year’s board will be elected.

A big thank you to everyone who applied and nominated! 💚

Happened in February 🌹

  • The two Vice Presidents of the union attended a member meeting with the Sveriges Förenade Studentkårer (SFS, Swedish National Union of Students) in Uppsala. Topics for the upcoming annual meeting in May was discussed during the meeting. If you have opinions about what StuFF should focus on at the national level towards the government, email vke@stuff.liu.se and we will talk!
  • Our Vice President of internal affairs met with LiU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor to discuss the unions’ involvement in Campus Total Defence. This is a strategic cooperation between Swedish universities to strengthen Sweden’s total defence through education and research.
  • The union participated as an exhibitor at Juroday. Thank you to the Business Law Association for the invitation! We also held two workshops for ELIN’s national network U9 💼
  • On Fettisdagen (Shrove Tuesday), we handed out semlor (Swedish cream buns) in the Key building. There was a very close vote about which bun is the tastiest: vanilla or almond paste. The result was: Vanilla 46% – Almond paste 54% 🌟
  • We met again with Linköping Municipality and criticized the high rent levels for student housing. All municipally owned companies that own student housing in the city make large profits every year. We believe it is unreasonable that they make such high profits at the students’ expense 🏠
  • The President and the Central Work Environment Representative visited the County Governor at the castle and took part in the Students’ Insight Council together with other unions. They discussed norms, inclusion, exclusion, and student perspectives in regional development 🎓
  • FUM04 (the fourth council meeting) was held. We received an update on the union’s finances, the association Hela Stångån Stormar (HSS) presented their work, engagement points were discussed, and the union’s long-term strategy was addressed. Thank you to everyone who contributed! 💚
  • We also held a Strategy Dialogue with the student unions. This is a new format where unions set the agenda to give the student perspective more space in LiU’s planning process 🩵
  • There was also a Rector’s Lunch with the unions. Discussed topics included a new investigation about university organizational structures, the “Letter of Intent” to include international students more, student engagement, and reflections from the Strategy Dialogue 🌱
  • The University Board had its first meeting of the semester. They discussed planning directives, LiU’s global engagement, and approved the budget proposal for 2027–2029, which will be sent to the government 🏫
  • The Union Board had its third quarterly follow-up and discussed progress in the current operational plan and planning for 2026–2028 🌿
  • The student finance survey from last year has been discussed in several forums with the municipality. There will also be a free lecture connected to student finances – more info below! 💸
  • A thank-you dinner for active student union members was arranged to thank everyone who worked hard for StuFF last year. The theme was Birthday party 🥳

Happening in March 🌸

  1. Week 10 is Work Environment Week (AMO week), focusing on work environment issues. Activities will take place every day! See our social media for more information 🌱
  2. The Union President will participate in LiU’s managers’ meeting and join a panel discussion about AI to represent the student perspective 🤖
  • We will attend the Doctoral Student Day to present what the board can do for Doctoral students. We will also be present at the Pedagogy Day conference which is a yearly conference absout pedagogics and didactics for university lecturers at LiU or other university.🎓
  • FUM05 (the fifth council meeting of the year) will soon take place 🌿
  • LiU’s Student Survey is open during March! This is a great chance to share your opinions. Check your email for your personal link. Everyone who answers receives a unique fabric patch, and ten grocery gift cards worth 500 SEK each will be awarded randomly among respondents. The section with the highest response rate wins cake worth 5000 SEK 🩵

Housing Survey is out – Answer and have the chance win 1000 SEK at IKEA!

Many students feel stress about money – student loans, rent, food prices, the future, and more. Therefore we recommend a free online lecture:

Financial stress & future worries – and what you can actually influence

The lecture is about 20 minutes long and explains how finances affect wellbeing and what you can do to feel more in control.
